Subject: The Rakes' Progress? Lafferty, Sloan.
The Rakes' Progress?

In 2008, Brian Lafferty said he would not run for the Executive Board
"under any circumstances", that he "guaranteed (he) would never stand". Sam
Sloan vowed to support and vote for Lafferty and Mottershead if they ran.

In 2009, Lafferty and Mottershead both ran for the USCF Executive Board.
Sam Sloan attacked both of them and said he did not support their
candidacies.

It begs the question, what faith can one place in Lafferty or Sloan?

So in 2010, the USCF dies? The only way to stop that taking place is to
vote for Blas Lugo, Eric Hecht and Mikhail Korenman, who are committed to
ending the contagion of litigation that is alienating and driving away
hundreds of members every month.

Speaking for myself only, I do not have any plans to run for the EB under

I would not want for Brian Lafferty to be elected and then be voting for
the USCF for file for bankruptcy. Lafferty writes above:
"As to bankruptcy, that is not monster many think it is. If the USCF
management had not made the improvements it has in the financial accounting
area (Donna Alarie outlined this well in another Forum post), then it could
have been argued that bankruptcy reorganization was a reasonable option."
Since the "improvements" that Brian Lafferty claims have been made have not
actually been made, this means that he still thinks that the USCF should
consider filing for bankruptcy.
I think that everybody should strike the name of Brian Lafferty off of
their list of names of acceptable candidates.

2010:

Fox reports that after the twelve lawsuits into which Executive Board
member "plunged" (as plaintiff or defendant) the United States Chess
Federation, the USCF has today filed for bankruptcy. The Internet Chess
Club purchased its remaining assets, including an emailing list, for $5.
Mr. Lafferty, who is allegedly being sued by no fewer than eight people,
was unavailable for comment, and Mrs. Lafferty (who answered the door at
what had been his home in Long Meadow, Massachusetts) said to a reporter
that she had no idea where Lafferty was, and hoped never to see him or
hear about him again. Rumor has it that Lafferty has emigrated to work
as a Public Relations consultant for Sanny, the developer of GetClub.
When contacted, an unofficial spokesperson for the U.S. Cycling
Federation said that the cyclists had more brians than chessplayers,
because they had the sense to long ago remove Lafferty from any position
of influence in their USCF.
Samuel Sloan, speaking from the Long Beach condominium he bought with
the money ted to him by Joel Channing, said "I told you Brian was no
good. But, as usual, nobody listened to me."

The Blas Lugo who was personally recruited to run for the board by Sue
Polgar? The Blas Lugo who brought along his money man Eric for the
ride? Oh, that Blas Lugo. Polgar's buddy who will clean things up a la
Trolgar? Is this the same Korenman who wasn't any longer a USCF member
until Sue got him to run?

Sounds more like Trolgar's kiss of bankruptcy for the USCF so she can
set up her own organization to affiliate with FIDE.

Bingo!

It has been known for several weeks that Blas Lugo, Eric Hecht and
Mikhail Korenman are the three Polgar candidates for election.

This proves it.
