Big !whoops! in round 7 for Kamsky, who just beat Mickey Adams in the

And, of the twenty-three of those draws I spotted[1] while scanning
through chessbase.com's pages, only five were of thirty moves or
fewer. What are we worshipers of the grandmaster draw supposed to do?

Dave.

[1] There are twenty-five draws but I somehow missed two of them while
compiling my stats but this facetious post isn't important enough
for me to go back and do the whole thing again. Damn, this
footnote's grown longer than the post.

Standings after 10 rounds:
I can't make the official site URL work, so these reports are from SP and
also a Russian chess site where you can reply or download games:

Big action at the moment is that Cheparinov seems to have scored 4 points
from 5 games.

Big Surprises are low placements of Kamsky and Svidler, high placement of
Wang Yue.

Everyone getting exhausted now, and therefore the high draw rate in round
10, viz:

Round 10
Gashimov - Karjakin 1/2
Mamedyarov - Grischuk 1/2
Carlsen - Navara 1/2
Radjabov - Cheparinov 0-1
Kamsky - Wang Yue 1/2

[a little off-beat. this move often occurs a move later after 7. Nf3]

[with the KN developed, this move is though to be too tame... and usually
met with c5!]

Nc6 10.Nf3 Bg7 11.e3 0-0 12.Be2 Bb7 13.0-0 Na5 14.Qb4 Rac8 15.Ne5 Qd6

22.Bc7 cxd4

the expense of the exchange]

[the white king is free to move up the board, white made suppressing black
look easy]

With this win, Wang Yue is once again tied for first with Grischuk with just
2 rounds to go.
