Neil Brennen's claim to fame is that he invented the term "Trollgar"
which has been widely copied and is almost universally accepted.

Now, will you stop changing the title to these threads. Note that I
have changed the title. It used to be "Neil Brennen's claim to fame."
I have changed it to Neil Brennen's claim to fame (no dot.)

As I explained to your valet, Rob Mitchell, I
declined in order to "protect" your exalted
chess rating; at the time, I was hundreds and
hundreds of points below my true strength,
and it seemed unfair to victimize you-- win,
lose or draw. (Even if you win, you gain far
less than you should. If you should lose,
thoughts of hari kiri emerge or else you
jump onto a table screaming about losing
to an idiot.)

The ChessWorld site starts new players off
at some arbitrary number, just as GetClub
does. Just ask RM-- I beat him like carrots,
which was unfair to him; but unlike you, RM
does not judge his self-worth by the length
of his, um, chess rating. ; >D

Trust me, Mr. Brennen-- you don't want to
risk playing against the likes of Rob Mitchell.
His tactical genius would have you pulling
your hair out, kicking yourself and wondering
what hit you in the middle-game. It is no
mere coincidence that your invitation was
"lost in the mail"; they were trying to spare
you the embarrassment that comes with
being miniaturized, again and again.

Just go to www.playchess.com

There's a button to click to load the free client software. You
install it and, as they say, "You have full access for 30 days. You
can then purchase a serial number for one year or continue to play as
guest for an unlimited time for free.".

Of course, they're trying to get you hooked -- after your 30 days, you
won't be able to play rated chess for free, which is what attracts
many of the players. You can buy a membership to playchess, which is
somewhere in the neighborhood of forty bucks a year, or you can buy
Fritz (which includes a membership) for a few bucks more. OR go to
e-bay and buy an older version of Fritz for quite a bit cheaper and
you still the membership.

I bought Fritz a few years ago only to get the program, and then got
hooked on playchess. It's more fun to play other humans, where you
can win once in a while. It's not the only game in town, of course,
but it's the one with which I'm most familiar.

It was sent to your email. Taylors was sent to his. Or you can simply
click on the link above and play. Look, your beating me at chess is
nothing I am afraid of. My ego is completly seperate from my chess
ability. I play because I enjoy it. I have enjoyed every game even
when being pounded. I love to play Mr. Bot even though he rarely talks
when destroying me. But he does play some very beautiful chess.
Unfortunatly I see the beauty in a move AFTER he has trapped me with
it. But hey, thats chess and thats life.I think what may be the truth
here is that if you actually began to play chess with someof us you
would find it harder to maintain the level of animonsity you do. Their
are bonds of friendship and understanding that can and may groew out
of playing chess. Now you may say Alekhine and Capa hated aech other.
That may be true or it may not. People tend to hate what others
discover of themselves.People hate sometimes the truth a mirror shows.
When confronted with a refutation of your own mental image you project
a hatred towards it.
If you have a flaw, or anyone has a flaw, in their game or
personality, they will dislike the person or thing which forces them
to acknowledge that flaw.

If you want to play, I would be happy to play. I have 40 games going
on right now so my play is like a huge blitz game. But one or two more
won't make me play that much worse. COme on Neil,Taylor and Sam....

It could be that. Why give credibility to those who have none? Then
again, there's the small matter of my not receiving an invitation. It
must have been sent via the same black hole that P Innes sent his
'invitation' to Dr. Dowd.

If it would do any good to educate them. They are all teeages and know
so much more than I do . I can't possibly know what I am talking
about..LOL I disabled instant messanger because it was a potential
back door. My sosn argued it wasn't until I did a virus scan with
Panda( very robust program) and it found three downloaders and they
all exploited IM protocols to get into the computer.

Well,
You have played some wonderful games and my only regret is I hav't
been more of a challenge to you. Just when I think I found something
ticky I end up playing worse than "get chess". LOL

The last few tournaments I have had that have been "open" tournaments
fill up pretty quickly. I can restrict private tournaments to full
members but that leaves a few out. We even had Yelena Dembo playing in
one tournament. I learned to not play goofy gambits against a WGM. LOL

Do you think they are afraid-- nothing to
gain and everything to lose (like, say,
playing Sanny's program)?

FYI: some of the invitations I have received
came when the tourneys in question were
already filled up, or at least so it seemed.
But there is also the small matter of the
proclamation "We are the Knights of Neep;
we battle evil chess politicians, tilt at
windmills and indeed, have a dozen
different chess teams, not all of which are
named for silly Monty Python themes".

I'm just waiting for a better theme; like, say,
James Bond ("we save the world every day--
without spilling a drop of vodka") or the Pink
Panther ("you will never see these silly
pajamas again, I can assure you, Ms.
Down... hohohoh").

I disabled active x and block it both at office and at home. It does
make things tedius sometimes but I have had zero computer attacks
since then.

I didn't let my kids use alcohol when they were little, but I a sense
of fairness never obliged me to become a tee-totaler myself. I also
didn't let them drive the car or take the bus unattended, although I
indulged in both of these activities.

I've had zero attacks, successful ones at any rate, for many years,
even though I've downloaded many applications. I use a full suite of
security tools (at present, ZoneAlarm, McAffee, and AdAware, although
I've used various competitors with no problem in the past) and
SugarSync to back up critical files.

Anyway, it might be valuable to give the kids some education and
experience in tools that facilitate safer computing. YMMV.

shut up and play if you can, if you'll actually risk something. that's the
only proof real players accept - not 'thinking' ;))

tell us your opinion 700 games later - get it? otherwise, please continue to

you protest too much bot, but you reference your own activities too little -

come on in, stop talking about stuff you don't do, and do it. then you maybe
won't need to protest so much about others who do it, and will understand my

How about a /reverse proof/:

1. Phil Innes is a weak player.

2. Phil Innes has *not* been driven away from rgc.

3. Therefore, it must be the strong players who
have been driven away from rgc (if indeed any
have been).

Or this:

1. The strongest player who has not (yet) been
driven away from rgc is 2300+ Taylor Kingston,
who is really a Class A player.

2. It appears that all /really strong/ players have
already been driven off.

3. The most likely cause is they don't like
idiots like nearly-IMnes and Mr. Sloan.

4. Most likely, if nearly-IMnes stays, they will
not return. But if nearly-IMnes travels to where
the strong players are now, they may leave and
come here to rgc (to get away from him).

5. Therefore, nearly-IMnes should enter real
chess tournaments and stop posing here.
Posting, I meant. (No, really-- it was just a slip.)

Anyone who wants to play is invited. Quite a few regular posters here
played but I will not mention them all unless they offer that
themselves. I have invited many of my attackers to play friendly games
but few take me up on it. Mr. Bot joined and we have played several
games and I must say he has always been cordial and helpful during
play and never one rubs my nose in any of my frequent bad moves!

Taylor, Brennen and Sloan have all been invited to play as has
Stephen . None will accept.

Over the past six years a lot of euphemisms and nicknames have been
invented for the dynamic duo of Polgar and Truong, but the one that
has stuck and been widely adopted is Trollgar.

Just a few moment back a new improvement was done that will make
GetClub play much Stronger. If you are playing some game restart your
computer so that new applet is downloaded and you can play game on the
improved version.

Today I played against Jester. Jester took 93 moves to win the
Beginner Level. So a lot of tough game at GetClub.

I saw the two games you played today against the Normal Level. The
first game that you played with Normal Level was on Buggy program.

Just play a new game with Beginner Level and you will feel the
improvement. No need to play Easy & Normal Level as Beginner itself
will play much stronger game.

Though the improvement increased the depth of search it made the game
play very weak. After seeing a few games I find it is playing even
weaker than what it was earlier.

So the improvement was removed. It will not seach higher depth but
make very decent moves.

My experience has been that the applet
tends to load faster when I am viewing
the GetClub Web page; if I switch to
another "tab", it may just sit there, or it
may continue loading-- but slowly.

Today I got nearly twelve hours of sleep,

before!

Wow-- I have been promoted big-time!

Mr. Kingston is actually rated 1811;
Phillip Innes is actually rated 2044;
and Sam Sloan is 1923.

Your numbers appear to be a bit off--
not even in the right ratings classes.

You must mean that it plays like someone

reminded of some comment or other made

The applet downloads on your browser in just 15 seconds. Its free to
play at GetClub Chess.

Today GetClub was improved and it will play much stronger thsn when
you played.

Play a Chess game with Beginner Level and see how good it plays.

Here is the new rating of each level.

Beginner: 2200+ as good as help bot

Easy: 2300+ as good as TK/ Chess One/ Sam Sloan

Normal: 2400+ No one in this newsgroup can win it now.

FYI: the java applet you downloaded in order
to play at GetClub could also expose you to
some similar danger, no? Of course, you can
easily identify a fake applet by the fact that
they would likely misspell Java as Jabba, and
"loading" as "lodeing", etc. Come to think of
it, not long ago I defeated GetClub's "Notmal"
level... .

Mike,
I am unable to download thrid party programs. Is there a site where no
program download is required? Like gamecolony.com ? I had to block
programs that install active x on my computer. My kids just kept
destroying my hard drive so to be fair to them , dont do it either.

Nobody cares, it will shortly be thrown out anyway. It's certainly not a
short and plain statement of the facts.

BTW idiot, if you are planning to sue anyone that lives in California, check
this out http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0723_leblanc_wm.pdf Under
state law, they can make you take a mental exam. So it looks like Ross is
out of your reach now. Apparently NY, NJ, Pa and Texas also have simlar
laws. So if all your Federal Questions are defeated, such as your RICO
rantings, and nothing is left but State Law claims, you might get thrown in
the Trick Bag again.

I think you are totally round the bend, but that's just me. Sue me and put
it in controversy, we can find out real quick.

Have a nice day, loon.....
