Subject: Kamsky chess boom

How come there has not been a chess boom now that Kamsky is going to
play Topalov?
If he beats Topalov, will there be a chess boom like in 1972 or does
Kamsy have to win the world championship first?

If the USSR still existed, along with the Cold War, a WC match between
Kamsky and a Soviet player might well prompt a chess boom. And if my
grandmother had wheels she'd be a wagon.

I think Gata is USSR too .....I know he has changed to the USA but it
is not the same as being born here...

When Kamsky played Karpov for the FIDE Title years ago there was no
"Kamsky Boom" then.I suspect if he was American born there maybe a
difference.Back in the mid 90's Kamsky's fathers actions also took
away from the chess.Kamsky does not strike me as a media type person
who would do the talk show circuit to promote the game.It is possible
I am wrong!(And I hopefully I am)..
