Just like there are World Championship matches for Best Chess players
in world Is there any Competition for Best Chess Programs?

What is the Money I will get if GetClub comes in top 3/ top 5.

Because Now I have stopped improving the game further as Now even good
players are finding it difficult to win. But If I can get a Lot of
Prizes by winning against Rybka/ Fritz I may further improve it.
Anyone knows how much I can earn if GetClub beats Rybka?

Because I need to invest a lot for further improvements. Incase
GetClub beats Rybka how much money will I get?

Because there is no point in spending more time if there is no
financial award on improving the Chess game. Else who will pay for my
Bread and Butter?

My temptation to beat Good players is Over. I may improve GetClub
Further if there are any World Chess Competition. And what is the
Prize Money for the Winners?

Bye
Sanny

there are hundreds of free and excellent chess programs/engines
for winboard or UCI; have a goog at WBEC Ridderkerk
or superchessengine.com; many programmers have
worked for years and years on their program; and believe
me, you wont be able to compete with the commercials like
the engines in Chessbase. or Chessmaster (Dutch engine ''King'');

chess has been for decades the guinea pig of artificial intelligence,
and chess programming knowledge has evolved to a high
advanced degree, even in the public domain.

so better improve the getclub site, have a look at facebook
for example. extend with more fun games, and make
a rounding off plan for the chess program, to make
it fun to play against, forget about the strength

good luck
other games, etc,

That's a bit steep to start out with. First you
need to "set the hook", only then can you reel
the fish in.

If I were you, I would start with a free version,
then get a ton of help improving it. Nah-- if I were
you, I would stop trying to compete with chess
professionals, many of which are chess masters
with vastly superior knowledge and thus, a huge
inherent advantage.

Every year? Nobody wins the world title
every year! There is always some lucky
upstart who somehow bounces his way
through on luck and reckless daring alone.

> I will earn 1 Million dollar every year by your estimate?

No, I think you will actually lose money.

> Should I jump into the river ?

Money isn't everything!

> Will I be able to swim or be drown into the Ocean?

Neither. You see, the Indian Ocean is
teeming with sharks, hungry for weak
chess players. And then there are the
sea snakes; their bite is deadly, and even
if you somehow manage to evade them,
there are pirate ships which search
endlessly for floating humans to sell as
crash test dummies and whatnot. You
are really better off to stay in the rivers
and streams, despite the dangers of
being attacked by tigers.

Believe me, it is well worth the $50 or
$100 cost per can for what is called
"bear mace". The last time I tried to
tussle with a tiger, I was unprepared and
he got the better of me; bad luck, I
suppose. *Next time* I will be ready for
him.

So I should now create a Downloadable version with price of $100

Is the $100 price good enough for large sale should I reduce it or
increase it?

Are you sure I will be able to sell 10,000 Copies of GetClub in a Year
and earn $1,000,000 every year?

I will earn 1 Million dollar every year by your estimate? Should I
jump into the river ? Will I be able to swim or be drown into the
Ocean?

This is something you don't need to worry about.

Yes, it is hard to improve on perfection.

As stated above, you don't need to worry about this.

Don't worry yourself about it. Strike three, you're out.

You could always get a night job as a comedian.

You will get zero, count on it.

You may want to see to it that your program can play
by all of the rules of chess first. To get a better
estimate of your program's strength (or lack thereof)
I decided to have one of my employees, who's strength
I would estimate at roughly 1400 from games played
over lunch and such, take on the "Mighty GitClub".

As expected he was outplayed tacticly in the early
going but was able to overcome the disadvantage by
trapping GitClub's Rook in the middle of the board in
a drawn position. It is at this point that it became
clear that GitClub fails to obey both three-fold repetition
and 50 move rules and makes no allowance for a
player to make these claims.

Given my expectation that GitClub's King prefers to
live a hermit lifestyole in a distant corner I coaxed him
into sacrificing his rook for a pawn rather then resigning
to get the debacle overwith.

Needless to say he once again reached a position with
three-fold repetition that GitClub did not honor. Draw?
Against GitClub you can't get no stinkin draw, you must
stay forever playing the same two moves agains this
fine software!

Yes, there is.

It is run by the International Computer Chess Federation and David
Levy.

Rome is no longer governed by an emperor;
today, it has an corruptocratic idiocracy-- much
like the USA.

I hope Sanny enters his program in the next
world championship so we can get a better
idea of its true rating strength. Perhaps
something like 3200 on Advance level, 3000
for Master, 2800 for Normal, 2600 for Easy,
and my favorite, 2400 for Beginner (which I
can still manage to defeat somehow). Soon
he will be forced to add more levels, just so
the program will not easily checkmate
everyone in under twenty moves.

Yes.

If that were to happen, you would very likely
get caught switching back and forth between
your dummy chess screen and Fritz; don't
try it!

I wouldn't get too excited until your program
at least reaches the 2000 level.

> Anyone knows how much I can earn if GetClub beats Rybka?

Enough to recover your cost for the Fritz
program, and then some!

It could only happen if there was a malfunction;
a *serious* one.

You could play Rob Mitchell a match for
$10,000... .

> My temptation to beat Good players is Over. I may improve GetClub

I don't know if there are any cash prizes,
but the winner's chess program can then
be sold by the tens of thousands for say,
$100 apiece. That's a lot of money, if you
quickly convert into some other currency
before the U.S. dollar becomes worthless.

In my opinion, the GetClub program still
needs a lot of work in certain areas, but it
has become tactically dangerous in some
positions. The single biggest weakness
seems to be its King-safety problem, by
which it keeps its own King hidden in a
corner and is effectively down a piece in
the endgame. That, my friend, is quite a
handicap for a wannabe Rybka challenger!

For more information, just do a Google
search on "computer chess world
championship". I think the latest one was
won by another program, but the ratings
lists show Rybka as the strongest -- even
in its outdated forms -- after extensive
testing.

There used to be, Sanny, but now that GetClub plays perfect chess
they realized there was no point.

No money, but you will be declared a god, like Caligula, Emperor of
Rome.
