Important password notice.

Postby gregory on Mon Nov 24, 2008 6:33 am
Good evening everyone,

If you use the same password on chessdiscussion for any other sites or
applications, due to recent legal issues, it is my obligation as the
developer to strongly suggest that you change your chessdiscussion
password to something that is unique to this site.

The chessdiscussion.com databases have been requested by the USCF. If
they are successful, the USCF may have access to the user credentials
on chessdiscussion. The passwords on chessdiscussion.com are all md5
encrypted, however, with tacit permission from Bill Goichberg, certain
USCF volunteer and contract based administrators have figured out a
way to bypass the md5 encryption and have admitted to have logged into
other USCF members private accounts. They also have a long pattern of
disclosing confidential data, and on many occassions have grossly
violated USCF privacy policies to achieve their own political ends.

I wish that I heeded this advice in the past, but I feel obligated to
warn our users-- use a unique password for any site if you do not
completely trust the administrators of a particular site. Many of us
tend to use 2-3 passwords, and use the same passwords for related
sites. Unfortunately, I am not immune to this practice; but this is
very risky if you do not completely trust all of the system owners of
any site.

Furthermore, if you are a member of the USCF forums, and you have any
doubt of the ethics of any of the contractors and volunteer system
administrators, I urge you to consider to change any passwords that
you have used on other websites, or applications, if you used that
same password on the USCF site.

Regards,

Gregory

All the more remarkable that I got supsended from this forum for
stating that I used a different password here than I did elsewhere.
The hyprocrisy is breath taking.

Perhaps the water has been heated so
gradually that Dr. IMnes has not yet
realized his perdicament? Like a frog in
a frying pan, unless there is a sudden
and dramatic change to cause immediate
action, the gradual rise in temperature is
almost unnoticeable. By the time the
culprits have fleed the country to avoid
further prosecution, it will be too late to
jump out. Alas, the damage to the good
doctor's reputation will be negligible, as
it is already a shambles; thus, PI has
nothing to lose, and gambling on cases
being thrown out on technicalities seems
no riskier than claiming to be nearly an IM
once did.

Who are these purported supporters?

I know we have a desperate name-dropper
named Dr. Innes from Vermont, and his
cousin from Tennessee, but I have not yet
seen *any* real support for the dynamic duo
of SP & PT. (How about a link?)

Note to the ad hoministas: counterattacks
do not constitute actual /support/, nor does
anything based on the two-wrongs-make-a
-right fallacy. As in chess, those are good
red herrings when a mating attack cannot
possibly be stopped and one is unwilling to
resign; but just as in chess, when there is
no valid defense, one is, as they say,
busted.

Anyone notice how quiet the Truong and Polgar supporters have been
lately? Especially the ones in Vermont and Tennessee?

Does (chess) one fear jumping from the (chess) frying pan into the...
(chess) fire ?

I believe that the above statement by Gregory Alexander refers to the
subpoenas served by counsel for the USCF on CrystalTech Web Hosting.

This is one of the subpoenas that Susan Polgar is now seeking to quash
by way of her motion in the United states District Court in San
Francisco.

The net is closing in on Mr. Alexander and Miss Polgar.

Will they be caught in the net or will they escape the long arm of the
law?

Tune in next week for the thrilling, action packed answer.
Did you see the "Important password notice" item
in the announcements area of chessdiscussion.com?
Very significant!! Thank you for pointing this out.

I have never posted on or logged into any of Gregory Alexander's
websites because I have long believed that he might be stealing
passwords. Why else would he require a casual poster to log in?

From the very beginning I was suspicious of Gregory Alexander's
websites. He has posted a variety of polls and forums. For example,
during the USCF election he asked people to vote for the candidates
and almost everybody here but me voted.

I did not vote because Gregory Alexander always requires everyone to
register with a User ID and password. Since he is not selling anything
on his websites, why would he require that, if not to steal the
passwords of those who logged on?

chessdiscussion.com belongs to Susan Polgar. Gregory Alexander is
merely the webmaster, So, if chessdiscussion.com is being used to
steal passwords then Susan Polgar has those stolen passwords.

I have believed from the beginning that this is how she was able to
steal the password of Randy Hough and then to log into Randy Hough's
Yahoo account and read his email.
