Well, almost.
After a very tough fight against the Advance level,
I stepped back down to face the Normal level, at a
more normal time control. Here is the result:

Even as I type this, new fuses are being
installed (Sanny uses old pennies, which
if you recall, were made of real copper).
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the blast.

I watched a movie about Alexander the Great
yesterday, and they had him conquering just
about everybody-- until he invaded India! In
the movie the Indians had war-elephants, and
all the stunt men on foot were apparently killed.
(Okay, that was just computer graphics.)
If the world's strongest chess engine can be
called "little fish", then I suppose it only makes
sense that GetClub is the "big elephant".

I haven't run this game through yet, but it
seems to me that in addition to exposing its
King via ...hxg4, GetClub also made crude
positional errors. One example was the
move ...h5 (which no human in his right
mind would ever play).
The general rule is that you should not
move the pawns in front of your own King,
unless necessary.
In this game, GetClub also made another
one of those crazy Knight "attacks" with
...Ng4. I suspect you give a bonus for
moves like this which attack squares
inside the enemy camp, or something like
that. It would be better if there were a
tiny bonus for piece development, so the
program would lean toward getting *all*
of its pieces into the game. This kind of
thing -- hopping Knights or Queen about
while leaving most of your army behind
-- is why some critics charge that the
program is only around 1000 strength,
for that is precisely the way many weak
human players tend to play.
Another small issue is the move ...Bxc3+.
This gives White doubled pawns, but it is
not wise to play the capture right away like
that. Note how in the game White had the
option of playing Ba3, and how White's
doubled pawns were /not exposed/ on a
half-open file, and neither was White
compelled to play e3, shutting in the QB.
In sum, Black hung the minor exchange
(Bishop for only a Knight).

There was one thing modified that made its King defence weaker. Now

improvement. Now that was done by weakening the King. There was an
error in that and that have been corrected.
After that I played with Jester and it took 60 Moves for Jester to
win.
