I've forgotten which color you circle on a chess diagram, is it white
or black?
Its been years since I've hand lettered a diagram, and I can't
remember which it is.

In standard chess white moves first. There should be a white square
in the bottom right hand corner as well.

Circle the letters for the black pieces. Another way is to use
capitals for White, lower case for Black.
