My 13 yr old daughter was taught chess by my late husband. I cannot play chess. Her school says she would benefit from chess lessons once or twice a week as she is too strong for the school club or teachers. They said I should look for a coach who has recently been rated 1,900 or higher. I work nights, so the lessons will need to be held at the coach's apartment. I have just moved from out of state and live in the Bronx. My daughter is very quiet and obedient, raised very strictly, so discipline should not be an issue. It would be a bonus if the coach could allow my daughter to accompany him or her to chess competitions to broaden her experience. I would pay for the motel. I cannot afford high fees. If you can help or know someone who can please reply, thank you so much. If you want to email, please take out the spamblock. Cynthia [email protected]

Perhaps the most obvious thing is she wanted somebody rated "over 1900" and my current rating happens to be 1901.

The "mom" didn't have money for the chess lessons, but did have plenty for motel. "Beloff's" post was sewn with such a thick thread that it was not interesting until Sam's response made me smile. Now the whole thing is a bit funny. Oh, and that Russian twist, and a husband dead, to create a defenseless impression. Life is full of trivial surprises. I would never guess that Sam will swallow the hook and everything. This reminds me of a cop in a basement garage of an elegant building of a few companies in Boca Raton, 1985. It was perhaps about 2am. I worked odd hours. Anyway, I went to the cop out of curiosity of life or to just politely strike a brief nothing conversation. To my amazement he checked my id. "A criminalist wouldn't come to a you [to a police officer]" I mentioned. And he said "you'd be surprised". Indeed. Regards, Wlod

She has many half-siblings who exhibit the exact same characteristics so it is no coincidence. I suspect Larry Parr and Don Schultz have similar issue.

The first thing that attracted me to this posting was that I also have a daughter and I am looking for a chess teacher for her in the Bronx. I cannot teach my daughter anything because she pays no attention to what I try to tell her, so I have been looking for a teacher for her. My daughter is 7. Sam Sloan

I pinged, issued whois (SS does not even use a firewall. Why?) netstats and compared it with other messages. You underestimate RSS. He was never fooled. Like Lasker, if I recall correctly, RSS deliberately makes a "bad move". His purpose in replying is different from what you speculate. SS has a scent of his oppressor(s). LOL. Why else did he claim the email [email protected] bounced? As I am a newbie here, do not take offense when I sat the name "Wlodzimierz Holsztynski (Wlod)" sounds quite improbable. Can you give some ID, or admit it is a fakename like mine (N.N., who lost thousands of games throughout the chess literature)? Thanks.
