Is it worth waiting for Chessbase10, or are there no signs of developing in the air and is it better to get CB9 right now? -- Yves

Yves, I can't answer your question, but before buying Chessbase consider reading the thread, "Chessbase thinks they are better than us????" dated 30-Sep-2006. SCID is a free and stable alternative developed by chess afficionados. It does have a learning curve of a couple hours before you get rolling. Chess Assistant by Convekta is another option. --- Become a Chess Expert http://likesforests.blogspot.com/

Note that here, `stable' means both `it doesn't crash' and `there's been no development done for a couple of years.' :-) But IIRC, the developer's back online, now.
