Just upgraded from Fritz 6 to Fritz 11.

I used to be able to view the dates of the games in my database, including
month, day, year. Now all I see is year. Not very helpful.

Anyone know how to add the full dates in the database view?

thanks

If it's done the same way as Fritz 10 (I haven't updated yet) then:

Open the database window. Select the 'Games' tab. Right click and select
'List Format

I mean, Fritz 11 can beat Fritz 11. Any real good engine can.

Sure it can, it's the wrong question.

Sorry, it's not mine, and I don't have Fritz 11.

You can find plenty of engine matches on the net.

You can probably find that somewhere.

But Usenet is not you chess service. An Asus EeePC or something like
that will do for the web and is Internet access more expansive than your
WebTV?

I was wondering if his Fritz eleven can beat Fritz ten ...That would
tell me Fritz eleven is stronger....

Id like to see your Toga 2 vs Fritz eleven ....Lets say the time i
play at the chess mall , 30 min each side ....Or maybe like my Ivan ,
I45 Minutes for 45 moves....

I wish some one else would play computer vs computer on here like
Sanny and I do because id like to watch a few battles beside ours all
the time..

HIRCS vs Fritz eleven or Toga 2 would be a great battle too ..

Here are two games I played between crafty 22.1 and glaurung 2.1.
Crafty was running on a Core2 Quad 2.4GHz CPU and glaurung was running
on a Core2 Duo 2.6GHz CPU. Both games were unfortunately pretty boring
and ended in a draw.

Is the time control 60 moves for 300 minutes ?

What are their estamated ELO's ?

Thanks

No, it's 60 moves in 300 seconds, ie 5 seconds / move on average.

> What are their estamated ELO's ?

According to this list:

http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/40_120_ratinglist/ratinglist/rangliste.html

glaurung 2.1 on a dual 64 bit CPU has rating 2876, but I'm not sure
how well that rating scale matches the scale used in human player
tournaments.

I didn't find crafty 22.1 on a quad CPU in any rating list.

Here is another game that also ended in a draw. The time control here
was 40 moves in 40 minutes. Note however that crafty has been running
on a computer that is almost twice as fast as the computer glaurung
was running on. Maybe the games will be more interesting if I let
glaurung have the fastest computer instead.

I03 and I43 move draws , wow that seem like exciting games to me ...Hard
fought they are even programs to me because to move that many times and
end up in a draw tells me they did not blunder to much ..

I will play them out later thank you ..

I have never heard of Glaurung..

The games were dead draws about 50 moves before they ended though, but
because computers don't easily get bored, they typically just keep
playing until the 50-move rule sets in. Human players would most
likely have agreed to a draw much earlier.

Glaurung is a very strong open source chess program. The home page is
