Due to overwhelming support of Chess Players here GetClub Chess stands where it is today. Your Advices helped a lot in designing the Chess Software. Today GetClub Chess stands as good as other Commercial Programs all because of your help. Now, GetClub Chess will be Commercially Launched. So that the players interested in purchasing it can do so. Keep giving your valuable suggestions. A few suggestions were ignored as it was not possible for us to do them as I do not fully understand how to do them. And it will take lot of time and money in doing those changes. Still if you have a small modification that can be done in 2-3 days that will be very helpful. Thankyou very much. I am too greatful to Help Bot whose continued support kept GetClub improving a lot. Now, I will not further improve the GetClub Chess as I am busy with Commercial issues. Now I am thinking how to get back the money I have invested in this project. I have lot of debts that I have to recover from it. Please tell me or give me a list of sites from where people will purchase GetClub Chess So that I display my program on all those gaming Site. I will give 10% commision to the sellers. Thanks for helping me so much. I am glad to have nice conversation with so many good people arround the world. Have a good day. Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

> Beginner: 1800+ I think this may be getting closer to the truth, although this still seems quite on the high side, but I would *guess* that 1500-1600 may in fact be closer, especially with the very dumb endgame play. What will be the cost of GitClub when you market it, and will it include source code? If you include source code (and give it away or sell for a low price like $10) you might get a number of people working on improvements.

Great, What were the things that dissapoint you at the below url? http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html Till now everyone was complaining the GetClub game is weak So I was only concentrating on improving its strength. Now no one complains it is weak But yes a lot of people say it is dull and boring. I got your idea you want the GetClub Chess to be interative and suggest whether opponent move is good or bad. Thats a great idea and I will look into that. What were the most dissapointment you had at GetClub. Can you tell me what made you feel sick and not play game there? As you have not played It means you do not like the web design. What should it lok like what are the things that are missing and you wish if they were added that will make you feel better at GetClub Chess? > I want it to look nice! What should be done to make it look nice? > I want it to feel friendly! What was unfriendly and you do not like? > I want it to be fun! Yes thats whay one is playing there How can that be made fun? > I want it to make me better and get better itself so I always have a > challange! Yes there are 5 Levels to play with depending on your play strength. Beginner: 80% player will loose Easy: 90% players will loose Normal: 95% players will loose Master: 98% players will loose Advance 99% players will loose. So you may increase the leves as per your play strength. Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

> Till now everyone was complaining the GetClub game is weak So I was > only concentrating on improving its strength. There is a difference between 'weak' and 'stupid'. I've seen people complain that GetClub: 1. Does not follow the proper rules of chess. 2. Does not end a game correctly (in relation to offering\accepting draws). There were also some issues with getclub doing some strange things with piece advancement. And whilst I see you've taken notice of the complaints and adjusted the program, I also see what you addressed did not actually fix what the complaints were about. > What were the most dissapointment you had at GetClub. The typography, the colouring, it was not inviting. It did not look friendly, it did not look interesting, it did not look professionally produced, it did not look fun. When someone (who isn't there for purely hobby interest purposes, ie. someone who might spend money) visits, they will just leave because of all this. Regardless of how good the actual game is. > Yes there are 5 Levels to play with depending on your play strength. > > Beginner: 80% player will loose 80% of players will lose? If that's the easiest level, why would I play there then? I'm likely to never win and that isn't fun and it wont make me better. ave

> 80% of players will lose? If that's the easiest level, why would I play > there then? I'm likely to never win and that isn't fun and it wont make me > better. I also want to clarify something. I'm not suggesting the program is 'dumbed down' or to reverse work that has been done. *Anyone* can write a chess program that loses, I could write a chess program that just randomly chooses valid positions for a random piece and moves it. I would probably win against that. But that, also, would not be 'fun'. You can have fun by both winning and losing. Losing all the time = not fun. Winning all the time because opponent is useless = not fun Losing but seeing your mistakes and how you can improve to maybe win next time = fun Winning because you played well, and so did your opponent = fun. Simply, the game needs to be able to be adjusted so that it gives a good game to all players. If it always beats someone they need an option to make it play at their level, conversely, if someone always beats it they need a way for it to play at their level. And even the worst chess player isn't stupid and they will see when the computer "isn't trying" when they win. It's one of the reasons Chess AI is a difficult thing to do, imho. ave

>> You can have fun by both winning and losing. > > What is surprising was that GetClub actually lost to the Turing Engine. Yes, I read that in some posts. But the 'regular joe' wont know about it, they wont know what the turing engine is. They wont know or even care. All they would want is a fun game. > The most fun is when the opponent makes a tiny mistake and you get to nuke > him for it. The definition of 'tiny mistake' varies greatly depends on your own ability. But yes, catching the mistakes of others does make it fun. But only when you perceive the opponent as at a similar or greater skill level than yourself. > That is what computers singularly fail to offer. Ofcourse, computers cannot make 'tiny mistakes'. To make them, they have to be coded to do them 'on purpose' which kind of defeats the point of the "tiny mistake", because it then becomes not a mistake at all. > The hardest thing for engines to do is spot complex drawn positions. They > will play on forever with a 1 pawn material advantage. Whilst I agree this is a complex issue for computer engines to do, and do not disagree with you at all. I would also say this doesn't affect the amount of 'fun' to be had in the early and mid-game time frame. Merely when drawn positions arise very late in the game game (relatively). Whilst failing at this point can spoil the fun, it doesn't really change the quality of the game beforehand which is what I was referring to. ave

If you hire a professional web designer, they will make it all nice for you. You don't need me to tell you whats wrong, you just need a professional to work on it. I'm not a professional web designer. ave

Drinking onion juice doesn't sound very appealing -_- > I am not good at Chess but GetClub Beginner Level beats 80% of the > average players. Tip.. This is a biggie. It doesn't matter what % of players a chess engine can beat.... I *suck* at chess I don't want to play some chess engine that kicks my ass all the time. I mean, what's the fun in that? I want a chess program that can be adjusted to a point where I could maybe beat it and if I don't I can see where I went wrong. I want a chess program that can offer me advice 'Hey, you know... maybe if you did this move instead it would open all these other option..." so that I can learn to play chess better. I don't want the chess program to *always* offer tips, sometimes I want to play on my own steam. So it has to be an option. I want a chess program to have a database of famous games. That can walk through the games and tell me "Look at this move by famous GM xyz! It opens up this attack..." or "This move by famous GM zyx cost him the game because...". I want it to look nice! I want it to feel friendly! I want it to be fun! I want it to make me better and get better itself so I always have a challange! It doesn't matter what % of players a chess engine can beat. All that matters is that it's fun to play. The more people it's fun for the more people will buy it. And don't tell me to play chess at GetClub, I've visited the site and I don't want to play there. It doesn't look inviting, it doesn't look fun. These things you will have to change if you want to make money. ave

You are very welcome. You should ask Sam Sloan for advice on how to market your product. Sam Sloan has many years of experience in marketing and publicity and, in particular, the legal disputes that are an inevitable consequence. Secondly you should apply to Larry Parr and his master Dato Ching Ding Dong, who is the owner of a string of Sweat Shops in the Far East. They will help you with packaging, distributing and publicity issues and will provide starting capital, because they love chess.
