King E-5 to D-6 ....why ? ivan is thinking about bishop to D-4 check...now it is thinking A-4 to A-3 pawn ..But it is not at his highest level of thinking yet ..lets see if it moves bishop to B-3..WOW , it never showed it was thinking of this move King E-5 to D-6 .. It never went to the highest thinking level either and it never thought about Bishop B-3 ar at least it never showed on the battle screen. This move seems wasted to me

Yes start a new thread ... Yes you can judge GC by playing Ivan because Ivan does not change ..This is the same program as always ...I can not change it myself BUT what it does every now and then is change his opening ..That is programmed into it .. will look for your new thread when i get home from work..by by

humans. The game uses the arena opening book, at the time control were 5 minutes for 40 moves. The version of Toga II is 1.1a, which isn't the newest. There was no thinking on opponents time, but just a single instance of the engine playing against itself on my single core Pentium IV. One singe game doesn't tell much about the strength, but surely proves that it doesn't always draw. > I wonder about that for ivan too , if i had another one id play them vs > each other a few times just to see what happens.... Thanks for that stuff .. O , i know there are stronger programs than Toga 2 , i was saying how hard it is for humans to beat a powerful chess program .. Yes your right on getting a real computer .. Have you played your TOGA 2 vs HIRCS ? That is the program id get if i had a real computer..

Wow , it makes you wonder how any human can beat a powerful computer like Toga 2. That number is over 6 BILLION nodes .. How long did it have to think to figure out a winning combination ? By the way how do you know what the best move or second or third best move is ? On my ivan the battle screen it shows you what moves he is thinking about and there is the number and some times it changes when he thinks he has a better move ..The thing i wonder about when it loses a game and i have seen him think about different moves throughout the game are the moves he chooses at that point of the game better ? In other words what happens if he would have picked one of the other moves i seen him thinking about would he still have lost ? Or maybe if he chose one of those other moves it mite have lost faster or would it have won the game ? I have no idea who programs excalibur games. Hey if you had TWO Toga 2's and played them against each other would they always draw since they are the same program or would there be a winner and loser ? I wonder about that for ivan too , if i had another one id play them vs each other a few times just to see what happens....

When i play Ivan says stuff to me like , I WILL DESTROY YOU ..I WILL CRUSH YOU ...LOL. Ooo , Ooo , means you made a bad move , i hear that all the time too.. ha ha.....
