If willing to build high-end computer with good chess strength, is the
way to go with new-coming core 2 duo processors or AMD FX. Is there
tests with core 2 duo showing its strength in chess engines?

i.e. x2-5000 could be probably badly overbeaten by E6700 & E6800. In
benchks
Core 2 Duos are against fx-62, don't fxs also have AMDs best
integer&floating
operations throughput - I'm looking for fx vs core 2 duo expectancy as
it comes
to chess performance, can it be directly compared as integer throughput

of these processor, for instance.

FX has nothing to do with Dual Core. There is a Dual Core FX available right
here:

The FX is an enthusiasts processor, and I expect that it will make little
difference to a chess engine. The priy advantage for an FX process is
likely to be with multimedia applications.
