Subject: Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition

I have just purchased and installed Chessmaster - grandmaster edition.
After poking around I have found very little difference between it and
CM10k. Perhaps a few updated graphic files, but it seems to be
identical. The only major thing that Ive seen that is different is a
new section in IM Josh Witzkin Academy called 'The art of learning'
Im not sure on if the playing strength is greater or not, but in
general it seems to be a 're-release' of CM10k for XP/Vista only.
Ive only poked around in it for the last hour or so, so perhaps there
is more...

2,000 FIDE Elo would be a strongish but unrekable club player. To
become an IM, you need to have had a FIDE rating over 2400, among
other things.

yes Josh Waitzkin is the kid from 'searching for bobby fischer'. Hes
now a man who has been quite successful (ie world champion) at tai
chi. I believe his peak rating was in the 2500's but could be wrong.
(and am too lazy to look it up)
His tutorial in CM is quite good, but it doesn't seem to justify a new
version of the chessmaster series
