Where is the best place to ask questions concerning Chessbase product issues? Is there a Chessbase support forum? I have recently purchased Endgame Turbo 3 (Nalimov Tablebases). After installing all the tablebases, including the 6-piece tablebases, I find some engines no longer work - Shredder 7 & 8, Hiarcs 9. I needed to upgrade Chessbase 9 to recognize the 6-piece tablebases! Do I need to upgrade to the newer versions of the chess engines (Shredder 10 & Hiarcs 10) for the tablebases to be recognized, or can I upgrade my current versions to enable them to read the 6-piece tablebases? All engines have no problem recognizing the 3,4, & 5-piece tablebases, but as soon as I add the 6-piece TBs, the engines crash. All help/advice would be much appreciated. TIA. -- RocketMan

See: http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3179 and http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3180 Note that his second article says the instruction booklet contains: "some technical details which are not covered in these two ChessBase Workshop columns (such as which engines will use the six-man tablebases and in which ChessProgram interface versions). TIA. First try this simple solution: power down your modem, router, computer, and cell phone in that order. Wait 10 minutes. Then turn off the power in your home for at least three days. Repeat the last "four of your social" three times, mother's maiden name, full address including zip code, and your phone number beginning with the area code. To power up use *reverse order*. If that doesn't work I have some very bad news for you. You not only need to upgrade Shredder and Hiarcs, you also need to buy CB 11, Outlook Express 14, and Windows Vista. In addition, you will need to get a new computer (preferably dual core), and upgrade your car from a 2-door to a 4-door. If your wife has brown, blonde, red, or black hair get rid of her and send for a mail-order Teutonic wife. After the new hardware/software/car/wife are in place, you should be fine. And please don't complain because it's your fault. You should have known before you purchased the table bases that they wouldn't work with your other CB programs. Remember, ChessBase GmbH hat immer Rechts, ist ueber alles. Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein ChessBase.
