well i sell it; so yes i do have some experience..
:)

currently it has less features than Bookup, for example
the book training facilities don't work well yet.
the layout is a bit different than Bookup, and may
be interesting for absolute beginners, and it also
is cheaper than Bookup. it describes a simple
repertoire useful for beginners, which they can
explore easily with Bbuilder, and after that
they can progress with other programs to the
more important study of the middle game; and tactics.

Chess position trainer imho is for more advanced players,
and is more complicated in its use (both with respect
to Bookbuilder as to Bookup).

lately there has not been much progress with Bbuilder
as i'm looking for a new programmer (in a development
country like East Europe India or China); eg to add
an UCI interface to the program (currently only using Crafty engine)

at the same time i'm testing the recommended repertoire
with Rybka, which takes me quite some time (it seems
that Rybka slightly prefers closed d4 openings compared
to the e4 repertoire, but for beginners i still advise 1.e4,
although the closed Ruy Lopez seem to bring
good drawish chances for black; no big deal.

anyone experience here with Chess Position Trainer ?
for me it's a bit abracadabra i must say;

but maybe after an initial learning learning period
it's useful for some (probably more advanced) players ?
