Subject: bizarre kasparov simul ending

i cant begin to make heads or tails of this game.. look at the final
position.. look at how many pawns are left 7 for white, 6 for black, 6
of them lined up in the 4 file.. i know its a simul, but this is
kasparov and a young vescovi, brasilian gm who just won the brasilian
championships.. anyone in the mood to analyze a curious game go crazy..

h4 looks like a pretty clear win for white with a couple of tricks.
49.h4 gh 50.Rh1 c3+ 51.Kc2 and now 51. ... h3 doesn't work because of
52.Rxh3! Bf1 53.Rh6! mating with Re5.
However, white does need to be careful.
52. gh? is tempting (creating an outside passer) but in fact it can lose
to Be2! when white's pawns fall all over the place.

To this patzer, it looks like 49.h4 wins. The Rook goes to the h-file
and mops up. Black gets no counterplay. I haven't analysed it, but that
seems to be the basic plan. Anyone?
