Apparently it has something to do with chess, but I can't seem to figure it out yet. Is that like what happens at move 20?

I believe the endgame is the stage of the game where most of the pieces have been liquidated off of the board. When I say pieces, pawns dont count. So if each side still has all of their pawns and only a couple minor pieces, i'd still consider that the endgame.

(note: I peaked at USCF 2000 and was being sarcastic)

The endgame is the last stage of the game, where there are usually only one of two pairs of pieces on the board. It usually occurs after move 50, and not all games reach the endgame. In endgames, strategy and tempo become paramount, and every piece must pull its weight.

PMFJI, I'm new to the group. I think endgame = death. (Refer to the play by Samuel Beckett.) ;- > Dr. J Ray Gordon wrote: > Apparently it has something to do with chess, but I can't seem to figure it > out yet. > > Is that like what happens at move 20?
