Are there any free sites or software programs that will suggest the best move after a certain position is set up ? Thanks, BMW Many of these programs are free. In general, you use a user interface, such as Winboard (free), and an engine, such as Crafty (free) or Gnuchess, which does the calculation. I believe there are 100-200 free engines available for downloading. I'm not giving you links because there are so many. Do a search on "Winboard" and you'll have more links than you can handle!
