Is there any move wrongly played by Advance Level? Advance level thinks 20-40 min / Move. So the games are usually the best that GetClub Chess can ever play. Still Zebediah the best player at GetClub Managed to win the game. Was the game won because of any weakness in GetClub engine? Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

Congratulation you got +40 points by just winning a single game. Worth 8 Games against Beginner Level. as you only get +5 on winning the Beginner Level. Zebediah again win a Game against Advance Level. He win in just 32 moves earlier he won in just 23 moves. One fellow who played this bought an openings book written by a grandmaster, which he said advised avoiding this ultra-sharp line and instead transposing into the backward-pawn line where White goes: Nb5 d6, Bg5 a6, Bxf6 gxf6, Na3. The losing move in this game was, perhaps, 7. ...Qc7. (But capturing early on c3 with the Bishop was not advisable.) > > I wonder why Zeb keeps giving the stronger > > program White? Have you managed to get equality with Advance Level or > any of your pieces have gone by the Big Triumph. The program only moves about once an hour, so It's dragging on. My "attack" failed, except that I managed to get a lot of pieces traded and am now in a relatively simple ending, with passed pawns galore. No way can they *all* be stopped, unless I blunder again. I messed up and allowed my connected passed pawns to get separated by some strange combination I did not foresee. > You need not worry as you will just loose +2 points if you lost the > game and earn +40 points if you manage to win the game. Yes, well... that computer-operator dude, Zeb, has already taken down the Advance level twice, while I'm still playing the very same game as when he was beating the Master level, over and over. -- help bot

And Zebediah played move that was from Opening Book While GetClub Missed the correct move in Opening. Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

Most of the top commercial programs have a big database of book moves they play by rote, to avoid falling into any nasty traps, as in this game. You definitely seem to be having some trouble with this other program (operated by Zebediah). I wouldn't worry too much over it. I once saw a USCF master get killed in this very same line, but he had the White side and his attack on the dark squares was botched horribly. I wonder why Zeb keeps giving the stronger program White? Maybe he lacks the patience for a week-long game. -- help bot

First, Zebediah was never down an entire rook. He was down an exchang with the black queen out of play and black's king-side being blaste apart. 15...Qe5-g7 instead of Rb8-g7 would have returned the exchange withou letting black's queen get as misplaced as it did. Black would hav still been in trouble, but would have had more of a chance to finall mobilize its queen-side. I don't play the French or Sicilian, but giving white doubled an isolated c-pawns looked plausible. Accepting a shattered position fo an exchange looked questionable -- jekewi
