Hey, that sounds a lot like someone who is using a computer. Humans, as we know, tend to vary their thinking times, according to the position (among other things). Somebody who is using say, Fritz or Chessmaster, needs only a few seconds per move, since they know it will not "miss" anything that the GetClub program can "see"; a couple of seconds or so to relay the move, and a couple more for the other program to "think", then time for the second "relay"-- the one where they enter the reply on the GetClub chess board. > Earlier Help Bot told me he uses some Computer. A Gateway notebook. Hint: do NOT leave these things in your vehicle with the windows rolled up and the vents closed, in the heat of Summer!!! > But who knows. He may > be playing those game with his super mind. My boy, if I wanted to use Fritz, I would not have lost or drawn even a single game at GC! In fact, I expect Fritzy could give Knight odds and still win-- perhaps not every game, but close to it. BTW, I think Fritz is rated around 2600 FIDE. > But he is only playing with Beginer Level. As Beginner Level is at top > Rank and beating it gives more Rating. Higher Levels are already down > by Zebediahs Triumph. The newcomers, who each start off at 1000, seem to prefer playing the Beginner level, and that inflates its rating relative to the other levels' ratings. > In future Chrisf may overtake Help Bot as he is playing a lots of > games. The true test is to carefully examine the moves; people and computers "think" differently. > I have asked him how he is winning so easily lets see what he says. He will probably say it is because your program is weak; but that's EXACTLY what a cheater would say! Just punch his games through a /real/ chess program, and see if he is playing more like a Fritz, or more like a Chris. -- help bot

Yes in Endgame Black > was a pawn down So It lost when Queen came. > > Was there a way for black to save its pawn? Sanny, the program hung its c5-pawn to a very simple combination: Nxc5, and now if ...Bxc5, then Q-h5+, forking the King and Bishop. I just happened to see this on account of very recently looking over Andy Soltis' book on the Ruy Lopez, where he pointed out a very similar tactic after 5. ...B-c5??, 6. Q-h5+, winning a piece. I hung the pawn back though, wasting time mulling over various attacks involving N-c4, when I should have focused on just keeping my extra pawn to eventually win in the endgame. I simply cannot calculate the tactics deeply enough in these complex middle game positions-- though I expect Fritz could. And speaking of the endgame-- the GetClub program really has no chance against me there, on account of the fact that while it is struggling to calculate three moves ahead, I am thinking in terms of /strategies/. The difference is perhaps most apparent in Rook and pawn endings, like this one. For instance, any half- decent chess player would "know" not to trade Rooks, but rather, to trade off the pawns-- as many as possible. The King and pawns ending is a cakewalk-- even for me. -- help bot

Subject: Chrisf beaten Taylor Kingston Record at GetClub.

An old player Chrisf has come back this time with more energy. And he has beaten Taylor Kingston Score and Now he ranks 4th at GetClub Chess. I think He is better than Help Bot as he just thinks 10 seconds and wins the Beginner Level like Carrots. Earlier Help Bot told me he uses some Computer. But who knows. He may be playing those game with his super mind. But he is only playing with Beginer Level. As Beginner Level is at top Rank and beating it gives more Rating. Higher Levels are already down by Zebediahs Triumph. In future Chrisf may overtake Help Bot as he is playing a lots of games. He left playing at GetClub on April 2007. He was afraid that Zebediah was going ahead of him. Initially he was able to Challenge Zebediah But late Zebediah managed to go at the Top. Now Zebediah has gone for some winter Sleep and Chrisf has come back. Lets see How good he plays. Chrisf has not lost even a single game till now which make me think he uses computer. But I find he is making moves in just 2 seconds how can he use computer help and make moves in just 2 seconds. So it looks like he is playing with his mind. As for using a computer help he has to make that move on other computer and copy that to Applet which takes atleast 10-12 seconds. So looks like he is playing with his mind and not computer. I have asked him how he is winning so easily lets see what he says. Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html
