I am sure that you can write a good chess book. The book should be a standard size. The best size is 6 x 9. Another good size is 5.5 x 8.5. Try to avoid unusual sizes. Standard sizes are important because book distributors ship them in standard sized boxes and book stores put them together with other books that size. Nobody is going to bother with a book that is odd-ball size. There needs to be an even number of pages. Otherwise one page will have to be left blank. The book will need to be in PDF Format. If you do not know how to do that I can help you. I will assign an ISBN Number and create a barcode for the book. No major booksore will sell a book nowadays that does not have an ISBN Number and a barcode. I have published or reprinted 14 books within the past six months. One of these came out yesterday. Two more will be out within a week. I have also published 12 DVDs. All of these books are for sale on Amazon. Here is a list. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891110/slavesofthomasje Chinese Chess for Beginners by Sam Sloan http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891102/slavesofthomasje Collection of Chess Studies by Troitzky http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/4906574009/slavesofthomasje The Slave Children of Thomas Jefferson by Sam Sloan http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891153/slavesofthomasje Khowar-English Dictionary by Mohammad Ismail Sloan http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891137/slavesofthomasje Sex chers by Jefferson Poland and Sam Sloan http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1881373010/slavesofthomasje How to Take Over a Publicly Held Corporation http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891145/slavesofthomasje Report on a Linguistic Mission to North-Western India http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891129/slavesofthomasje How to Talk Dirty in Japanese and English http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891188/slavesofthomasje Illustrated Catalog of Chinese Coins, Vol. 1 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891196/slavesofthomasje Illustrated Catalog of Chinese Coins, Vol. 2 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/092389120X/slavesofthomasje Illustrated Catalog of Chinese Coins, Vol. 3 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891757/slavesofthomasje Modern Joseki and Fuseki, Vol. 1: Parallel Fuseki http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891765/slavesofthomasje Modern Joseki and Fuseki, Vol. 2: The Opening Theory of Go http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0923891803/slavesofthomasje The Farm Book by Thomas Jefferson With light notes and annotations by Sam Sloan The last three books are new, so the links to the last three do not work yet, but they will work within a week. That alone has already cost the USCF about one thousand dollars. I told you before, Mr. Sloan, that I took steps to minimize the USCF's expenses. I don't know why you don't want to belive me -- I'm not the one with a reputation for making up my "facts". samsloan wrote: Almost the entire ethics complaint by Tanstaalf a/k/a Vaughn has been dismissed by the Ethics Committee as frivolous, although five of his allegations remain. (Those five I will be able to refute easily). Deciding they didn't want to take jurisdiction is not the same as deciding you weren't guilty... And it's certainly not the same as deciding the charges were frivolous! Just another Sam Sloan "NON-fact". samsloan wrote: Tanstaafl got admitted as a delegate to the meeting in Chicago due to a mistake caused by inexperience by Pat Knight. (Had Rachel Lieberman, who traditionally has handled the delegate certification process, been on the job, Vaughn would never have been certified as a delegate.) Not true. I have every reason to believe that this was perfectly proper and that the normal procedures were used. samsloan wrote: Having gotten in by mistake, Vaughn then tied up the meeting with endless motions and speeches. He spoke more than any other delegate. Two of his motions passed, one more was referred to a committee, and all of this has cost the USCF money. This is a gross exaggeration. What two motions of mine are you saying passed? I'll bet one of them WASN'T mine -- just normal Sam Sloan exaggeration. samsloan wrote: Tanstaafl a/k/as Vaughn ties up this group with an average of ten attacks per day (please go count them) or more than one thousand thus far, leading the casual reader who will not realize that it is just the same seven people attacking me over and over again every day to believe that there is widespread opposition to me. You're showing yourself to be quite "math challenged", Mr. Sloan. Fortunately, the forum software keeps up with these things and it can tell you that I've averaged 2.5 posts per day. Less than half of these have involved YOU. Just click on my name (when it appears as a link) and you'll see the average number of posts. A quick search will show how many times my posts have been about you -- again, less than half. samsloan wrote: I am not questioning that here, as this is all well known. Only to somebody you've fooled with your NON-facts. samsloan wrote: What I am questioning is that Joel Channing, a member of the board, who has thus far done nothing since he got elected except spend our money needlessly, supports him. Sam Sloan I'd wager that Joel has cost us FAR less than you have, with FAR more to show for it. Tell everybody, just exactly what did the USCF get out of defending itself against your lawsuit? What did it get for all the "investigations" you had everybody doing on the 2005 candidates filing fees? ...

The ONLY reason the USCF hasn't already been sued for Mr. Sloan's statements is apparently that the people being attacked care more about the USCF than Sam Sloan does. He damages the reputation of the USCF as a whole with practically every statement he makes.
Amen. Joel Channing
It is interesting that Joel Channing supports both Tanstaafl, whose real name is Herbert Rodney Vaughn, and The Fake Sam Sloan, who posts obscene messages on rec.games.chess.politics Tanstaafl has cost the USCF a lot of money by filing a 400 page ethics complaint IN COLOR, requiring the USCF office to make at least 10 COLOR COPIES of this 400 page complaint, at great cost to the USCf.
He wrote a bunch of books. Okay, that is an accomplishment So now what? What is the Sam Sloan leadership program for improving chess?
In fact, I do have been plans for the USCF which are, in short, to take over the world. However, for the time being, I have to have much more modest goals. Right now, I need to be like the Little Dutch Boy who stuck his finger in the Dyke. You must know the story, but if you do not, Holland is majority below sea level, but they keep their country going by building huge dykes to keep out the water. One day, a little boy on his way to school, saw a small hole in the dyke with water slowly trickling through. He realized that if the flow of water was not stopped, soon the small hole would be bigger, then the dyke would collapse, and then the whole country would drown. So, he stuck his finger in the hole in the dyke. In this way, he saved the dyke and in so doing he saved the town and the country. Eventually, the people of the area realized what was happening, so they rushed to plug up the hole, although, by that time, the little boy was dead. Like the little boy, I am trying to keep my finger in the hole in the dyke. This means that: 1. I am trying to stop Joel Channing from putting into effect any more of his wild spending schemes. 2. I am trying to alert the membership to be prepared for another huge financial loss this year and for the possibility that there will be no US Championship this year or else a much scaled down version as compared with previous years. 3. The price I have to pay for this is constant and repeated attacks on me by Channing and Goichberg, so I have to withstand this and hold my ground. I have been to some limited extent successful. There have been no more crazy boondoggles by Channing. At the board meeting on November 17-18, 2006, Channing proposed that we all go on another "Retreat". I shot that down by saying that as long as we were going to blow some more of the membership dues money, we might as well do it big time and go to Aruba (although I was actually hoping for Shanghai so that I could look up some of my old Chinese girlfriends, who would help me shanghai Channing over there.) On point number two above, Goichberg still claims that the USCF will be profitable this year or at least break even and that something will turn up which will enable the US Championship to take place as he has scheduled it. Ha. Ha. Let's see how that one turns out. On number three, I am standing my ground and will continue to do so, but Goichberg is spending a lot of the USCF's money trying to have me thrown out of office or else not be re-elected. Only time will tell how that will turn out. Sam Sloan
