After White's 60th move, both players agreed upon a DRAW in the seventh
game of the World Chess Championship.

Topalov's strategy wasn't that bad - he had an advantage for quite a
while in game 1, but you are right in that he could easily have taken
the draw later instead of still pressing. As he then lost the words
'could have' ought to be changed to 'should have'... but if he'd won or
drawn instead of missing *tactical* shots, he'd have been acclaimed.

Then in game 2 his aggressive strategy got him to a place where... he
missed a 1 move win! That would have shown his strategy to be correct
and equalised. But he unaccountably missed the simple *tactic*. If only
he had nipped to the loo and checked his Pocket Fritz or Palm Hiarcs,
they'd have shown him the winning move in 1 second with a +9.00
evaluation!

Cheers... Eric

He seems in his good form, or at least this is what he believes about
himself if one remembers how he attacked Kramnik in the first 2 games.
However it is only now that he is realizing how strong and careful
Kramnik can play when the WCC is at stake. Kasparov could not break
through, let alone Topa.

Very bad match strategy from Topa. It only made Kramnik's life easy.
Unrealistic approach to such kind of match --wishful thinking kind of
overestimating himself.
He behaved as someone on amphetamine, such guys think that they can
take on the whole world, and payed the price.

*sigh*

Doesn't seem like Topalov is going to be able to beat Kramnik over the
board.

What happened to his form from last year?

Kramnik with white have played Sicilian Najdorf versus Topalov in round
robin tournaments to have more winning chances (but also having more
losing chances). In that situation (from 2-0) He is playing very solid
lines with both black and white with the only purpose to achieve a draw.

In that case Topalov have a difficult task!

Imagine Kramnik playing Slav and Catalan in Linares, ... sure He will
not win many games. But matches are a very different matter.
